A Quick Chat with Kevin Silvester
Is there a story behind the name of your debut EP "O2"
The songs on O2 came from a place of pure catharsis – where songwriting became a survival instinct like breathing oxygen. I named it O2 because it encapsulates that feeling, but also as a nod to 2002, the year I was born and the era of pop rock that shaped me and my sound.
How do you want people to feel when they listen to it?
I want people to feel seen. This EP is messy, emotional, dramatic, funny, and honest – just like real life. Whether you’re screaming in your car, crying in your bedroom, or dancing in your mirror, I hope it makes you feel less alone. If the listeners can hear their own experiences in these songs and walk away feeling like someone else gets it, then I’ve done my job.
What can we expect at the launch?
The launch will be an immersive experience, with every detail – sonic and visual – carefully crafted to bring the O2 era to life. You can expect an explosive night of raw emotion and high-voltage pop-rock chaos. I’ll be performing the O2 EP in full for the first time, alongside a few fan favourites and surprises. It’s going to be theatrical, heartfelt, and unhinged – in the best way. With a stacked support lineup and a room full of Silvies, it’ll be one of the most electric shows I’ve ever played.
